Wedding Wishes

Wedding Wishes

Spring is in the air and so are wedding plans. Wedding cards are so much fun to make because they represent a wonderful time of a couple's life.

This card was so much fun to make. I started with a 5 1/2" x  7" base because the detail layer is a little over sized. At first I put the die on just the plain base, but it lacked something so I took out some vellum with tiny gold hearts on it, then added the die. Before adding any of the dies I sprayed them lightly with Tattered Angels glimmer mist, Dazzling Diamonds.

Using silver glitter paper from Michael's I cut out two hearts with a Martha Stewart heart punch and interlocked them.

Finally, I added MS tiny pearls.

Happy New Year

                                 Happy New Year 2016

I found this on Pinterest last week. Immediately I fell in love with it. Gina K and her team are so creative. I changed up a few things to make it my own, but basically it is the same.  Here is the site at Gina K, http://stamptv.ning.com/video/happy-new-year-card-project.

All  measurements are on the site above. I chose to do the flakes and sentiment in glitter embossing powder. This one is in silver, but you can see from Gina's site that gold is beautiful as well. I however didn't have gold so silver was my choice.

I used this for my Christmas "Thank You" cards. Gina used a scoring board to make her lines, but I used an embossing folder for mine. I found this so exciting and fun that I just couldn't wait to make it. It sparkles, shines, and looks so elegant for that end of the year celebration.

The upper right hand corner looks gold but it is the lighting from a lamp that was near by so you can see how lovely it would look in gold.

Looking forward to a great 2016 and lots of card making.  Happy New Year everyone!
